earthworms and john dillinger.
Ok, so first things first! Yesterday I was tooling around on Armitage waiting for Carla and I wandered into Lush, where I hadn't been before but had heard really good things about from Jason's fiancee, Amy. Nevermind the fact that her favorite product is Karma Kream and it smells like "the combination of patchouli and a headshop" (her words) and sounds like my worst nightmare, I figured I'd go in and smell things while I waited. I ended up getting suckered into buying Ocean Salt, because I ran out of my other body scrub. And it smells delicious and is made with vodka. Vodka always means good things. I also got Buffy which is this exfoliating body butter stuff that the saleslady promised me would alleviate my itchy skin WITHOUT using lotion (and we all know how much I hate lotion). And it worked wonders on my hands in the meantime. By this point Carla was also in the store and ended up making the same purchases. Because she is also weak. ANYWAY, fast forward to this morning. I used the vodka scrub and it's totally awesome. I keep petting and caressing my own face. Weird, I know. And the Buffy... well, okay. So, I used it and it feels awesome and scratchy and really did leave me feeling moisturized. But then here at work I realized I smell funny. I didn't smell at first so my body must have needed an hour or so to get breathin' and sweatin' and pheromonin' and reacted with SOMETHING to make me smell like... soil. Seriously, I smell like the Earth. I made my coworkers smell my arm and they think I smell like grass. I think I smell like that really moist soil they keep the earthworms in bait shops in. I don't smell BAD like omg that girl has B.O., it's just I smell like... Mother Earth. I'm going on another non-date with Steve (for pizza and INDIANA JONES.... like, the perfect non-date. I'm so a preteen boy.) right after work tonight so I'm hoping it wears off a little.
Secondly, here are some pictures from the Public Enemies (the Johnny Depp movie) movie set I've taken (when I haven't been shooed away by crew or security). No pictures of actual shooting (they shoot at night and hell if I'm sticking around work until midnight) or actors, but I still think it's cool to see how much detail has been put into making the street look like it's from the 1930s. There's a lot of stuff I haven't gotten a chance to take pictures of, hopefully I'll be able to before they're done in a few days. But until then...
The Biograph Theater. John Dillinger was shot in the alley behind it.
Out front of the Biograph. I'm just picturing some extras in suspenders and fedoras sitting out front on the crates and boxes.
This facade is actually hiding my beloved Qdoba.
Fake cobblestones and streetcar rails.
Hiding Fiesta Mexicana and their wonderful margaritas.
Dude painting fake glass on one of the fake stores.
Lines of old cars waiting for shooting later at night.
I want one.
Really, I want one.
